Chaise Longing

Y1 Studio project, BSc at University of Bath, UK

This was my first ever individual architectural project, which asked for a timber exhibition pavilion to display a chair. My design was influenced by the structural behaviour of the chair, and used the curve of the chair leg rotated around two points to create a pathway for visitors to walk. I used steam bending to create a bent ply model which behaves the same way at 1:20 as it would at 1:1.
