Oxburgh Hall

Norfolk - 2021

Main project while at Bulmer Brick & Tile

My main project while working at a traditional brickmaker's was the extensive restoration of Oxburgh Hall, a Tudor moated house. My role comprised primarily of setting out a number of gothic revival chimneys from geometric first principles in order to create templates for use in the mould-making workshop. I also had the opportunity to learn how to "green carve" bricks needed in various locations on the gatehouse, including cusped arch bricks.
